EAST OF ENGLAND CHAMP SHOW HELD AT PETERBOROUGH ON 5th JULY 2013 - BOXERS
Once again I enjoyed my day among my favourite breed, the Boxers. Although it was a very hot day, we were lucky to have been allotted a large ring with a great proportion of shade, which made it easier for the Boxers, exhibitors and judge alike! The entry in the catalogue of 109 was reasonable by present day standards, taking into consideration we were on a weekday/ working day (plus other outside influences). The Boxer was, by a good margin, the top entry in the Working Group. I was pleased with my line-ups for the two challenges with a fair even-ness of type, but it is increasingly difficult I find to line up a set of 5 Boxers to type in the classes. Type is definitely more varied than when I last judged the breed three years ago. Having said that, there are some really promising youngsters coming up through the ranks whose progress I shall watch with interest.

MPD (3,1)
1. Chippendale‘s MYLICAM MAMBO. Smart 6 mths red baby with great body shape and outline. He has an eyecatching headpiece with such a melting expression. Nicely crested neck leading into good shoulders and front. He obviously needs ring experience, but when he settles to the job he moves very soundly.
2. Ashley‘s RUSMATRIC SILVER SPIRIT. Dark brindle 7 mths boy with very nice head and eye, a larger and rangier puppy than 1. One that will need time and patience as he is at present very unsettled standing and especially on the move.

PD (5)
1. Still‘s MARBELTON DANCE WITH ME. Lovely 10 mths red with super headpiece, typical of his breeding, the darkest of eyes, great expression, well placed ears, wide mouth and correct dentition, evident chin and correct lip placement. Strongly built throughout, good depth of brisket, he has great bone, tight feet, square body giving lovely outline with natural slope, strong quarters which he uses on the move. No doubt, one with a bright future.
2. Beardsell & Van Beck‘s NEWLAITHE DOODLEBUG. – Bigger puppy than 1. Plenty of bone and substance. Nice headed dog with good expression. Good neck and outline. Preferred the size and movement of 1.
3. Kelly‘s CASEMATES THE WIZARD.

JD (14,2)
1. Kay‘s SEACREST DEACON BRODIE. This striking red took my eye as he entered the ring. He was wrongly entered by his owner as being only 11.1/2 mths - he should have been in PD. Built on beautiful clean lines, such a stunning outline with gorgeous headpiece, dark eye, super balance of muzzle to skull, evident chin and lip placement. Square dog with good depth of brisket, natural slope, strong bone, good legs and feet and fitting the standard so well. He really sweeps round the ring saying ‘look at me’ – and I did and made him BPD and BP. He and the winner of PD are two wonderful youngsters who will no doubt change places often in the future!
2. Brown & Hutchings‘ WINUWUK MARIO BALOTELLI. – Totally different type from 1. At a rangier stage at present but has all the essentials. Strongly built throughout, well balanced head with good rise of skull, dark eye, good neck, front and height of foreleg giving strong topline with natural slope. and good legs and feet. Moves with enthusiasm.
3. McCarthy & Gething‘s JEDDHI ROMAN HEART.

YD (6)
1. Francis, Pearce & Townshend‘s JENROY MOORCROFT WITH LONGSDALE. – Very smart brindle with lovely head properties, good rise of skull, expression excellent and good wide mouth and correct dentition. His crested neck leads into well laid shoulders and good front assembly. Square outline with good strong sloping topline. He uses his well developed quarters on the move.
- 2. Godwin‘s SULTASH FRANKEL. – Very similar in type to 1. He also has a lovely headpiece with clean skull, lovely expression, good mouth. Another eye-catching brindle with shapely body built on correct lines. Nice depth of brisket. Very little separated these two dogs, but I just preferred the shoulder of 1. and Frankel was not quite so settled on the move.
3. McCahill‘s DRACHENFELS LORD ASRIEL.

GD (2)
1. Pynegar‘s SCOOBY V.D. HEIDEZOOM VOM BERWYNFA. – Eyecatching deer red of 17 mths. This youngster presents a super outline, has an excellent front assembly and strong quarters. Fine well balanced headpiece with true Boxer expression, super crested neck, good legs and feet. He has all the essentials and when he gets going really can motor!. Surely one for the upper house!
2. McCahill‘s MELVICH’S IROEK BYRNISON AT DRACHENFELS. – 4 yrs dark brindle with a lovely head and expression. Dark eye, good bite, evident chin and good lip placement. His nice neck leads into well laid shoulders and strong topline. He has good bone, legs and feet and moves with enthusiasm. Shown in lovely condition, I preferred the balance of 1.



Boxers – East of England -2

PGD (3)
1. Jones‘ KEVANOR FEDERER JW. – 2 yrs old very smart dark brindle Has a lovely balanced head with dark eye, well padded muzzle, evident chin and good lip placement. His super neck leads into good shoulders and front, his good outline comprises good depth of brisket, good ribcage and loin and is well muscled throughout. He moves really soundly. A very nice exhibit.
2. Stewart‘s IANDIAN CERTAIN KINDA CHARM BY BOXYGEN. – Red of 2 yrs. Nice headed dog with good expression. Elegant neck, good front assembly with good forechest, strong backline. Not quite the balance of 1. nor so steady on the move.

MLD (6,1)
1. Brown & Hutchings‘ WINUWUK ENZO FERRARI. – This very dark brindle 5yr old masculine male is one that fills the eye on entering the ring. Standing he displays his lovely lines and does not disappoint on the move. He is very well off for bone, good height on the foreleg and has a super strong sloping topline. Good masculine headpiece with excellent bite, good rise of skull and neat ears. He demonstrates his strong muscled quarters on the move – a real showman!
2. Spanswick‘s TUDORA GLAD ALL OVER. Red 7 yr old docked dog. Shown in super youthful condition. Does not look his age. Very nicely balanced headpiece with clean skull, lovely expression, dark eye, good wide mouth with correct bite. Great body properties with super depth of brisket and length and depth of rib. Well boned legs and tight feet.
3. Jackson‘s JARRABEAU WILD CARD FOR HORRINGER.

LD (6,1)
1. Dunlevie‘s SURFSTONE STORM TROOPER. This is a dog I have watched and admired from the ringside since he was a MP. Now 3 yrs old, dark brindle and white, he possesses an excellent head with no excess wrinkle, the darkest eyes giving wonderful expression and neat well placed ears. His muzzle to skull ratio is spot on, evident stop, super wide mouth with correct dentition and lip placement. His crested neck leads into a well constructed front assembly, good forechest and with lovely bone and feet. Superb muscle and substance throughout, he presents the ideal square outline with natural slope and strong driving quarters which he uses to power round the ring. Add to this real ring presence and you have quite a dog! He has been ‘knocking on the door’ for some time and I was pleased to be the judge to award him his first CC and BOB. Congratulations to his breeder and his owners.
2. Brown & Hutchings’ MAROMAD KISS THE GIRLS AT WINUWUK. Another 3 yr old of similar type and build. A golden brindle, he has a lovely head of good proportions, pleasing dark eye, well placed ears, good neck and lay of shoulder. Shown in hard condition and moving with drive from his well muscled hindquarters, but did not have the reach in front of 1. This handler gets the very best from her dogs..
3. Cobb‘s TOPAULA WIZARDS APPRENTICE.

OD (6,2)
1. Parker & Martin‘s CH. OLLEYVILLE OREN McPHEE. 3.1/2 yrs square red brindle with well-balanced headpiece and excellent expression. Wide mouth with correct dentition, evident chin, well padded muzzle, crested neck leading into really good shoulders and front, this super bodied dog has a natural slope, is well off for bone and good legs and feet. He is an honest Boxer, in excellent condition and every inch a Champion. This handler produces his dogs in hard muscular condition and moves them to get the very best from them. I was pleased to award this dog the Res CC.
2. Rallings‘ CH. ZENMAXKAYS TITUS. I have not seen this dog since I gave him a Res CC from Junior three years ago. He looks every inch his continental breeding with the wonderful typical head and expression. He excels in neck, shoulders and presents the correct square outline with natural slope, but on the day he totally lacked muscletone and was therefore not driving as I know he can.
3. Bell‘s STANRYK DAY DREAMER AT SURFSTONE JW.

MPB (2) Only four days and very little else separated these two bitch puppies – just two very raw babies!.
1. Cobb‘s STANRYK STREET OF DREAMS. – I fealt was just a little readier than 2. She has a very pretty headpiece with sweet expression, dark eye and well padded muzzle. She has a good neck and on the day was better bodied up than 2. She is going to be a very nice mover with experience.
2. Chippendale‘s MYLICAM WALTZING MATILDA. – Also has a lovely feminine well balanced head with all the essentials. Her dark eyes give such a melting expression. Her neck is very elegant and leads into well laid shoulders. I found her, on the day, to be leaner and narrower throughout than 1.She will also be a nice steady mover when she settles to the job.







Boxers – East of England -3

PB (4)
1. Kay‘s SEACREST GILT EDGED. I note is litter sister to my PD/BP. Being the feminine edition of her brother many of my remarks on him apply with such lovely body, legs and feet, super headpiece, dark eye and super expression. They are both such good movers. How lucky this exhibitor is to have bred two such lovely puppies from the same litter and I shall watch their progress with interest.
2. Flintoft’s BOXANIA OLYMPIC SPICE. – Just days divides this dark brindle beauty and 1. and I see they are by the same sire. She has such a lovely headpiece with a really sweet expression, crested neck, good shoulder placement and classic body shape, She was a little more tentative on the move than 1., but is so well constructed and muscled and everything in the right place that she must share the same bright future a the winner.
3. Copeland‘s KRONOPS STELLA BONASERA .

JB (16,4)
1. Pynegar‘s BERWYNFA FIZZ BANG POP. – Headed this strong class. Truly feminine 14 mths brindle with such a lovely head, so well balanced and with stunning expression. Correctly padded muzzle and good bite. Her crested neck leads into a very nice front assembly with nice height on the foreleg giving the much desired natural slope when posed. She has well boned legs and feet. Presents the correct square outline standing. Good depth of brisket, correct rib. With good front and rear angulation, she is such a lovely mover, so sound both coming and going. Another up and coming star for this clever breeder.
2. Jarvie‘s KIRANJON ALL THAT JAZZ. A month younger, this is another lovely young lady similar in type to 1. Another stunning feminine headpiece with melting expression, darkest of eyes, good muzzle to skull ratio, muzzle well padded and with wide mouth and correct dentition. Her lovely neck leads into well laid shoulders. Good foreleg height, natural slope, strong backline and shown in excellent condition. Another really free mover.
3. Parker & Martin‘s OLLEYVILLE OUTA BLUE.

YB (5,2)
1. Bell‘s SURFSTONE BOOGIE ‘T’ NITE. – I have not seen this striking dark brindle since she was a very young puppy. Now 20 mths she is maturing into a top quality bitch. Lovely typy headpiece with stunning expression, well padded muzzle, evident chin, clean skull and neat ears. Her crested neck leads into well laid shoulders, good front assembly with nice forechest. Good height on foreleg giving natural slope to her strong backline. Her movement is easy and flowing with great drive from her excellent quarters. She is just so feminine. When she is fully matured this one will trouble the best.
2. Griffith‘s LANFRESE KEPI D’ELLE. – Red, 2 mths older than 1. Another top quality bitch. Presents a very square outline. Lovely clean head with good muzzle to skull ratio, good underjaw and lip placement. Another with super crested neck, good front, well off for bone, strong backline and very well muscled quarters that she really uses on the move. I loved both these bitches and it was a close decision but the extra femininity of 1. won the day. Another whose progress I will watch with interest.
3. Golds‘ CASCORIKE OSOLUSTY.

GB (5,2)
1. McCarthy & Gething‘s UNDER COVER AT WALKON. – Very stylish brindle/white with a truly classic headpiece just coming to her best at 3 yrs. She caught my eye as she came into the ring. Lovely clean head with good muzzle to skull ratio, nicely padded muzzle, evident chin and lip placement. Her body is built on such lovely lines with good front assembly and nice height on foreleg, natural slope and well muscled but feminine throughout. She is a really good ground-covering mover. Quality through and through.
2. Beardsell & Van-Beck‘s NEWLAITHE ON DESIGN JW. – Smart looking exhibit just coming up 2 yrs different type to 1. Eye-catching head and neck, strongly made throughout and moves with verve. I preferred the shoulder of 1. Well handled to make the most of her good points.
3. Taylor‘s NORWILBECK BELLCHIME MADE FOR WIVENDENE.

PGB (8)
1. Dunlevie‘s SURFSTONE MIDNIGHT STORM. – Litter sister to my Dog CC and she really is the feminine edition with her gorgeous clean head and stunning expression. Correct muzzle to skull ratio, wide mouth, correct bite, lip placement and evident chin. She has an excellent front with nice forechest, height on foreleg, well let down in brisket, natural slope and strong topline. Super dark brindle coat, moving and covering the ground well, strongly made and well off for bone, but just so much the lady. Another pushing hard for top honours.
2. Stewart‘s IANDIAN SIMPLY SENSATIONAL BY BOXYGEN. – A year younger, this red has great body properties. So square with correct topline, good brisket and rib, very well boned with good legs and tight feet. Her head is very feminine with lovely expression, well padded muzzle, good lip placement and chin. Nice neck and shoulders. Shown in super tight shiny red jacket, she really moves with great purpose coming and going. Nice exhibit.
3. Swansborough‘s BOXATIEL TERN TO GOLD.

MLB (5,2)
1. Hyde‘s SEZFLO PURE FAITH. – This brindle was omitted from the catalogue so I do not have an aged noted for her but she did win this class with a bit to spare. She has a good head and expression, nice reach of neck and presents a good outline standing with natural slope. She is very well off for bone and substance and excels on the move. Shown in excellent gleaming coat and condition..
2. Murfin‘s FARVALLEY SIROCCOS GIFT. – I see this exhibit is coming up 3 yrs but looked younger. Nice body shape. Such a sweet head and expression and lovely breed type. Shown in super condition and such a free mover.
3. Huggins‘ DAERVLISH MISS SARAJEVO.

LB (8,2)
1. Pynegar‘s BERWYNFA BANG TIDY JW. – It is three years since I last judged this lady, now 5 yrs. It is interesting to compare her now with the youngster I remembered because I was concerned at the time that her skull was not as clean as I would like. However, maturity has improved this point and today she has a very feminine clean skull. She is very eye-catching in her shiny red brindle jacket with lovely headpiece, dark eye, super expression, lovely padded muzzle and good lip placement, evident chin and reachy neck. She is well muscled but totally feminine throughout and an easy free mover. Another, I understand, looking for the third elusive CC. I hope it will not be long in coming.
2. Thomson‘s LATCHKEY CELEBRITY RUMOUR JW. – This eyecatching tall brindle is now 3.1/2 yrs. Impressive headpiece, darkest of eyes, good muzzle/skull ratio, evident chin, wide mouth and good bite and good lip placement.. She has a crested neck, strong backline and natural slope. Good depth of brisket and ribcage and is very well off for bone. Good legs and tight feet. Shown in excellent condition, she moved with enthusiasm but was a little tight behind. I preferred the complete femininity of 1.
3. Bell‘s BOXANIA STORMY SPICE AT SURFSTONE JW.

OB (4) – I know we have had no alternative than to accept and live with the docking decision but I must say what a pleasure to judge this class of three docked bitches!
1. Stewart‘s BERWYNFA BOM CHICKA WAH WAH FOR BOXYGEN. – I have been a great fan of this lady, now 6 yrs plus, since I judged her three years ago. I believe her to be one of the best moving Boxer bitches on the circuit! She is a credit to her owner as having been out of the ring for maternal duties, she has retained her youthful figure. So feminine throughout, she possesses a lovely head with such stunning expression, lovely neck and shoulder and her outline is just as asked for by the standard with correct depth of brisket, height of foreleg, strength of backline, natural slope and those fine muscular quarters that she puts to such good use on the move with her good legs and tight feet. She had lost none of her magic on the move for me as I sent her round for a final look and was honoured to be the one to crown this queen by awarding her that elusive third and qualifying CC. – a decision that was greeted with much enthusiasm and ‘not a dry eye in the house’! Many congratulations to her proud owner
2. Kelly‘s CH. CASEMATES WITCH TRICK Sh.CM.- Another lovely 6 yrs old bitch shown in beautiful coat and condition. She has a super headpiece with the darkest of eyes, lovely balance of muzzle to skull, good lip placement and the muzzle well padded. Her reachy neck leads into nice shoulders and a good front assembly. Nice square bitch that moves very soundly both ends. Well boned legs and feet. The outstanding movement and ultra femininity of 1. won the day but I was pleased to award this lady the Res CC.
3. Richardson‘s LICHDEL ANGELICA AT HEMBADOON Sh.CM.

занятия по "собачьему" английскому или, как правильно, по английскому языку для кинологов, планируем начать в середине октября. предлагаю обучение по очной и заочной форме, начальный курс и продвинутый. в данное время готовлю программу и пособия и параллельно занимаюсь на кинологических курсах. конечно, если есть вопросы по пройденным темам и желание освежить знания - пишите в лс, постараюсь ответить с уважением

Добрый день! Как здорово, что занятия будут продолжаться! С нетерпением жду продолжения. Много летом ездила. А с осени пошла на курсы кинологов в КСУ (опыта очень много, хочу наконец сдать все официально и получить документы) и на английский язык (индивидуально, разговорный и практика перевода).

LenaYa Лена, пока ничего не упустила, в связи с выставками в России и за рубежом курсы пока и не начинались.

я все больше склоняюсь к заочной форме обучения и встречам в клубе один-два раза в месяц для контроля и для общения. См. сообщения здесь на веточке.

The bitter cold had an effect on some of the dogs moving and as such placing’s could be different another day, temperaments were good, however a few could do with ringcraft and learn some basic ring patterns also another issue was long nails and dirty teeth. 2014 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Judging Panel Released

NEW YORK, NY (January 8, 2014) – The American Kennel Club® is pleased to announce the judging panel for the 14th Annual AKC/Eukanuba National Championship to be held in Orlando, Fla. on Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014.
The 2014 event will showcase the top national and international dogs and will also include popular attractions such as the Best Bred-by-Exhibitor competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series Final, AKC Meet the Breeds® and the eighth Eukanuba World Challenge. The AKC Agility Invitational will again be held in conjunction with the 2014 event, and the AKC Obedience Classic returns after a successful first year in 2013. The AKC Juniors Agility Competition and the AKC National Juniors Obedience Competition will continue to be held with these events in December.
The Brevard Kennel Club, the Central Florida Kennel Club and the Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay shows will precede the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship at the same site on Dec. 9-11, 2014 and a day of specialty and group shows will be held Dec. 12, 2014.
Heading the panel as Best in Show judge for the 2014 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship is Mr. Ronald Menaker of Jupiter, Florida and Ms. Patricia W. Laurans of Newtown, Connecticut will judge Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in Show.
Mr. Ronald Menaker has been actively involved in the sport of purebred dogs for more than 40 years.
He has bred and exhibited Giant Schnauzers, Bedlington Terriers, and Norfolk Terriers, owned Border Terriers, and is deeply involved in many breed and all-breed clubs, dedicating his time in various capacities. Mr. Menaker first served on the AKC Board from 1996 to 1998. Elected again in 2000, he became Vice Chairman in 2001 and served as Chairman from March 2002 to March 2012. He is the past show chairman for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and the Westminster Kennel Club show, and is an Honorary Member of The Kennel Club in England.
As a member of the Bedlington Terrier Club of America, he has held positions as President, Director, AKC Delegate, and Show Chairman. Additionally, he is a member of the Giant Schnauzer Club of America and the Border Terrier Club of America. An AKC judge since 1994, Mr. Menaker has judged at more than 200 AKC Conformation shows. His many judging assignments have taken him across the country and around the world, including to: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela, etc. He is currently approved to judge Best in Show, all Working, Sporting, Terrier, Toy and Non-Sporting breeds, and multiple other breeds.
Ms. Patricia W. Laurans began in dogs in 1963 when she bought a pet Doberman Pinscher. The pup was spotted by prominent handler J. Monroe Stebbins, who encouraged Ms. Laurans to show the dog. She then worked as an assistant handler for Mr. Stebbins.
She began breeding and exhibiting German Wirehaired Pointers in 1970, and with the assistance of Joy Brewster, she established a line that produced many Best in Show and national-specialty winners. She has additionally owned Best in Show and national-specialty winners in several breeds under her Laurwyn kennel name.
Ms. Laurans became an AKC judge in 1980 and is approved to judge the Sporting, Hound, Working and Herding groups, and some toy and non-sporting breeds. She has judged the Herding Group and the Junior Finals at Westminster, and has judged at several AKC/Eukanuba National Championships.

С лингвистической точки зрения лучше начать с общего для всех этих неизвестных мне English Coonhounds, Foxhounds (American), Foxhounds (English), Harriers, Otterhounds, Treeing Walker Coonhounds, Bluetick Coonhounds, Redbone Coonhounds слова HOUND собака, охотничья собака, гончая. Таким образом, это гончие.

Otter fox coon - названия животных, на которых они охотятся "выдра, лиса, енот".

Еще есть слова, относящиеся к окрасу blue red голубой красный и слово крап tick, т.е. получается крапчато-голубой и крапчато-красный.
И "географическое" название English American Swedish английский, американский, шведский.

bluetick coonhound перевожу как крапчато-голубая енотовая гончая (красиво и понятно, но длинновато)

Это - совмещение обязанностей переводчика и секретаря в ринге.

A lovely entry of good quality dogs who all had good dentition. Thank you to all the exhibitors who entered their lovely dogs under me.

Yearling 2
1st Waters Sweetbriar Sticks An Stones JW; dainty fine boned tri dog, lovely silky coat, good head & expressive eyes, level top line, good forefront & correct tail set. Moved well after settling down.
2nd Richardson's Rozamie Montpellier At Belvane; 22 month old shaded R/W dog. Level top line, nice head with good fringed ears. Moved well & stood four square. The only criticism I have is that I would prefer a longer length of bone in the tail.

PG 6 (1 Abs)
1st Thornton's Sharjoy In The Future; Thornton's Sharjoy In The Future - 4 year old B/W dog. Lovely mover & very attentive to handler. Good head with large well placed ears which he used to advantage. Good confirmation & well presented. BOS.
2nd Clint's Papplewick Persian Punch; 11 month old shaded sable dog. Fine & dainty with a great expression & lovely silky coat. Good head with lovely ear fringing which he used very well. Level top line & correct tail set with good turn of stifle & well presented. Unfortunately on this occasion he was preoccupied & did not perform as well as I have seen him do in the past. BPIB.

2nd Featonby-Warren's Buttalowie Remember Me Melangel; 19 month old dog with good body shape & good head. Moved well both going & coming. Extrovert with lots of quality. Good stop & rise to skull with a good expression.
